Cassidy Janae is a self-taught portrait and street fashion photographer based in Philadelphia, PA. Not only does she capture her subjects in digital format, but she also uses film photography to bring a nostalgic, yet cinematic feel to her work. Taking a documentary style approach to her work, she is passionate on capturing the community around her as well as the raw, intimate moments between people and their environment. She is inspired by the Black experience including Black fashion and culture giving Black subjects a space to feel and be seen in a light that portrays them in a positive way. She believes in telling the stories of the Black community as a form of advocacy and creating images that forever speak on the Black experience no matter how much time passes that allows people to relate and feel connected to her work. She also creates a warm and comfortable environment for her clients to authentically express themselves while in front of the camera!
